4316-001 AIR FEATHER FRIENDS

Director: Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Tad Stones, Brian Swenlin
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

Aladdin must prove that thieves are behind the recent rash of whirlwind attacks on Agrabah or lose Abu to Faisal.

Nice episode. Strong writing and editing. The concept of the Roc feathers giving the power of whirlwind flight I like. Jason Alexander voices Abis Mal.

4316-057 THE ANIMAL KINGDOM

Director: Bob Hathcock, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Richard Stanley
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

When Aladdin finds himself in a valley populated by speaking animals, he learns what it means to be the outsider; the odd man out.

I'm ambivalent about this one. Sort of like it; don't actively dislike it. Michael Dorn voices Brisbane and John Astin voices the dingo and there's a pointed Doctor Who reference. Originally, it was intended that there would be a full Trek cast (Marina Sirtis as the Queen, Brent Spiner as the dingo, etc), but it never worked out.

4316-085 ARMORED AND DANGEROUS

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Dominus Tusk is rampaging through Agrabah and the only hope is a suit of armor that turns the Sultan into an evil warrior.

I liked this one. Good, chilling story about a possessed and evil Sultan.

4316-076 AS THE NETHERWORLD TURNS

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Iago's greed get him and Abu into trouble again and this time it's the Netherworld.

Ayam Aghoul should have stayed a one-shot villain. Not particularly funny, but not really bad either.

4316-031 BAD MOOD RISING

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Jan Strnad
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

A diplomatic mission to Quarkistan spells trouble for gang as it's ruler can control the climate with his moods.

Not a favorite of mine.

BEAST OR FAMINE (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Bob Hathcock
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Robert Schechter, Brian Swenlin
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

An evil Shaman holds a race of sand dwellers enthralled and he's after Genie's power.

I'm neutral on this one. It's good, but just doesn't click with me. Malcolm MacDowell voices the Shaman.

4316-086 BLACK SAND

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Someone's replacing the palace regulars with undead creatures and he's using black sand to do it.

As it has been pointed out to me "there are no bad Mozenrath episodes." This one has some problems, but still is good. Mozenrath is voiced by Jeff Bennett in this one. Due to an oversight, Brandis was never called in to record the voice track and originally aired with the temp track (by Bennett). Later viewings had the credits changed to reflect that fact.

4316-067 CAUGHT BY THE TALE

Director: Bob Hathcock, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Abis Mal cons some kids into finding a treasure for him.

This is a "include the kiddies" story done right. Lots of good stuff.

4316-070 THE CITADEL

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Mozenrath, sorcerer and villain, needs someone to collar the Thirdak, a beast that devours magic. He's picked Aladdin and Genie is the bait and incentive.

Mozenrath's hot: He's calm; he's calculating; he's sexy. He's a welcome change from the villain stereotype which is usually older and less handsome than the hero. He has the most potential for bringing out the best in the heroes. Mozenrath is rumored to be Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley's favorite creation for this series. Must see episode.

4316-073 A CLOCKWORK HERO

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Mekanikles builds a son, but parenthood isn't quite as he planned (when is it?).

Frankenstein meets mechanical genius. Bit strange for a Mek episode.

4316-039 THE DAY THE BIRD STOOD STILL

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Iago accidentally intercepts a spell meant for the Sultan and is slowly turning to stone. He has until sundown to find the antidote: A scale from a rock efreet, but Abis Mal has the rock efreet.

I enjoyed this one a lot. Personal preference, I suppose. Rock efreets, rock efreets, whee!

DESTINY ON FIRE

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: <none>
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Aladdin and company return from a vacation to find everyone in Agrabah turned to slugs. Only Rasoul has managed to escape and he and Aladdin must set aside their differences to lift the enchantment from Agrabah.

The Return of Aziz (from SEEMS LIKE OLD CRIMES). Hmmm. Okay, nothing special. Jasmine makes an ugly slug. [One of four episodes done to replace THE RETURN OF JAFAR in syndication.]

4316-022 DO THE RAT THING

Director: Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Jan Strnad
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

Jasmine, upset over Aladdin thinking she doesn't know anything about "real" life, vows to spend the day in the thieves quarter of Agrabah "even if it kills [her]." And it just might as things don't go quite as planned and Jasmine ends up with the body of a rat.

Not the best, but one of them. Character design for the Rattus rattus Jasmine is excellent. She and Iago (a frilled lizard) have great lines and work great together.

4316-054 DUNE QUIXOTE

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Jan Strnad
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Sadira is after Aladdin again, this time with a sand mesmerism spell. Jasmine shows up not-quite-in-time and the spell goes awry and Aladdin is left thinking he's Dragonslayer!

Great! Sadira and Jasmine make a great team even when at odds. Just wish there had been more.

4316-069 EGG-STRA PROTECTION

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Brian Swenlin
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

A Gryphon is terrorizing Getzistan and Abis Mal is the reason.

ELEMENTAL, MY DEAR JASMINE

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Jasmine is trapped by a temperamental water elemental. Tired of wrecking ships and drowning sailors, Saleen set her sights on Aladdin.

Ariel Gone Bad. Saleen's design is based on an early design for Ursula as a poisonous lion-fish. Watch for Jasmine to adopt an Ariel 'do.

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

The stakes are high as Mirage and Fashir argue over the strength of love. Mirage tricks Jasmine into using a potion that turns her into a snake to test Aladdin's devotion to her.

A few minor flaws (okay, a gaping big plot-hole) but this is one of my personal favorites ranking up there with GARDEN OF EVIL.

4316-066 THE FLAWED COUPLE

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Abis Mal and Mekanikles team up in an attempt to extract revenge upon Aladdin for ruining their various schemes, but the clash of egos is more than they can handle.

Felix and Oscar again. :-) Great lines, great pairing, great fun.

4316-016 FORGET ME LOTS

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mike Ryan
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Abis Mal steals the Blue Rose of Forgetfulness and Jasmine loses her memory and becomes the Scourge of the Desert.

Jasmine as the "Leather Queen of the Desert" is only the tip of the iceberg. Wonderful interaction between Abis Mal, Jasmine and Haroud.

4316-006 FOWL WEATHER

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mike Ryan
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

A trip to a rain forest to get some water for a parched fig grove results in a lover's quarrel for Iago.

Thundra is great. At last, someone who can take Iago in hand. A cute couple. First script and was used as an audition script for the part of the Genie and subsequently recorded with four different Genies.

4316-087 FROM HIPPOSDETH WITH LOVE

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: <none>
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

King Pector travels to Galifeme Island to profess his love for Hippsodeth, but Hippy's heart has been stolen by the only man to defeat her in battle: The Sultan of Agrabah.

Since when has Hippsodeth been in love with the Sultan? Oh, who cares? I don't. This one is sweet, if a bit uneven in spots. Surprise, surprise, I liked it. [One of four episodes done to replace THE RETURN OF JAFAR in syndication.]

4316-013 THE GAME

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Richard Stanley
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

A pair of wizards show up to play deadly games with the gang.

Jonathan Freeman voices one of the wizards. Not the greatest, but some good lines.

4316-048 GARDEN OF EVIL

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

Twenty years ago, the Sultan pledged his greatest treasure to Arbutis in exchange for his life, and now Arbutis has come to collect the debt.

This has to be the best episode of the series. It plays like a Shakespearean tragedy from the opening scenes. Arbutus' speech isn't just some "be kind to flowers" tirade; it's a highly personal and private statement of pain. From the onset, this one has a dark, tragic feel to it. Very moving.

GENIE HUNT (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell, Marlowe S. Weisman
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

A Muuktar is after Genie's scent and a Muuktar never gives up.

I like this one if for no other reason than "just because." The designs of the Moktar and his mount remind me of something straight out of Bakshi's Wizards.

4316-015 GETTING THE BUGS OUT

Director: Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Steve Roberts
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Jasmine finds a mechanical dragonfly in the market and it proves to be the key to mechanical mayhem as Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu, Iago and the Genie save a village from Mekanikles.

Mekanikles is an obsessive/compulsive who is worried about whether or not to do the dishes before or after he conquers the world.

4316-075 HEADS, YOU LOSE

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

The wizard Kapok wants Aladdin's help to restore his disembodied head to his beheaded body. Things go awry as Aladdin loses his head as well!

Absolutely hilarious episode--if you watched The Adventures of Baron von Munchhausen. Disney spoofing the philosophical ideas of Rene Descartes! Not great for character development, but I find it extremely funny.

THE HERO WITH A THOUSAND FEATHERS (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Steve Roberts
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Iago is the focus of Fashir's attentions this time when he's fated to awaken an ancient evil.

Don't have much to say about this one. Not particularly good, not particularly bad. A bit heavy handed in parts.

4316-020 I NEVER MECHANISM I DIDN'T LIKE

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

Mekanikles, the demented Greek inventor, tires of Aladdin always foiling his plans, so he sends a hypnotic robot to bring them around to his way of thinking.

This is Gene's show and he shines.

4316-043 IN THE HEAT OF THE FRIGHT

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Guimaraes Productions

Aladdin and company encounter a cat-headed agent of evil known as Mirage.

I found this one very muddled. Mirage was an early villain concept that never quite gelled. Mirage is voiced by Bebe Neuwirth.

4316-044 LOST AND FOUNDED

Director: Bob Hathcock
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Abis Mal takes a trip back into time and disrupts Agrabah's history--and jeopardizes Jasmine's existence.

I liked this one, especially the scenes in the Time Vortex.

4316-082 THE LOST CITY OF THE SUN

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc

Mozenrath has enslaved the Sprites to help him look for the fabled power of Shamash, but Aladdin and Company have other plans for him.

The story works well with a few minor flaws. Mozenrath has a secret that's just too gruesome to contemplate. Note: Shamash was an ancient Sun god.

THE LOST ONES (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Tad Stones (uncredited)
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

The children of Agrabah are disappearing. Aladdin must learn the secret behind the disappearances and come fact to face with evil to prevent the children from becoming part of the legion of the El Katib.

Whoa. Awesome episode. Stephen King's IT done right.

4316-064 LOVE AT FIRST SPRITE

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Fun loving Sprites take the gang for a ride to the clouds, but things go awry when they turn deadly serious.

Another "playful, powerful, yet innocently sinister" creature-type plot, though this one is fun. If you can stand the unbearable lightness of cuteness. I like it anyway.

4316-081 THE LOVE BUG

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Thundra calls Aladdin and the gang for help when her rain forest starts disappearing courtesy mechanical termites.

Slightly off-kilter Mekanikles episode. I didn't particularly care for it.

4316-046 MISSION IMP POSSIBLE

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Steve Roberts
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Nefir Hassenuf cooks up a scheme to get the golden silk of the Worm of Panacea.

Hmmm. About average. Nothing special.

4316-019 MOONLIGHT MADNESS

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Guimaraes Productions

A romantic evening for two turns into a hunt for cursed treasure.

Great one! Romance, mystery, danger; it's got everything you could ask for! Very much like Ladyhawke.

4316-021 MUCH ABU ABOUT SOMETHING

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bruce Reid Schaefer
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Abu and the gang must save a civilization from a rampaging monster.

4316-004 MUDDER'S DAY

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Jan Strnad
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Aladdin and the gang are captured by the Almuddi, carnivorous earth elementals and it's up to Aladdin to save them all winding up in the soup.

I like this one because Aladdin isn't the one who gets himself into trouble. Yeah, there are plot-holes wide enough to fly a Roc through, but hey, what the heck. :-)

4316-018 MY FAIR ALADDIN

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Steve Roberts
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Once again, Aladdin loses his confidence in himself and tries to be someone he isn't and must overcome this before Mekanikles can turn the desert to glass.

A bit weak, but good story. Mekanikles isn't quite as manic as he was in GETTING THE BUGS OUT, but he's still entertaining.

4316-008 NEVER SAY NEFIR

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

What's the mystery behind the giant, dancing, pink rhino that's destroying Getzestan every night?

Nefir the Imp is voiced by Rene Auberjonois and is marvelously wicked.

4316-083 NIGHT OF THE LIVING MUD

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Al-Muddi are invading the palace!

So-so. Some funny bits, some not so funny.

4316-003 OF ICE AND MEN

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

A trip to the frozen north brings Frajhid the Ice Efreet to Agrabah.

This episode was the only one of the series to be digitized and that explains the bright, sparkling colors. So-so.

4316-042 OPPOSITES DETRACT

Director: Bob Hathcock, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Dev Ross, Mike Ryan Story by Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Al and the gang encounter a dragon on a trading mission.

This one had a troubled birthing. Uneven in places. Genie assumes the form of the Genie float from the Disneyland(?) Aladdin parade.

4316-026 PLUNDER THE SEA

Director: Rob LaDuca, Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Steve Roberts
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

A mechanical sea monster is terrorizing the seven seas and it's up to Aladdin and Al Bahtross to investigate.

Another Mekanikles episode. I liked this one, especially Captain Al Bahtross.

4316-059 POOR IAGO

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Steve Roberts
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Iago finally flips when the stress of being Greed Incarnate gets to him and he finds religion.

Weird.

4316-040 POWER TO THE PARROT

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Jan Strnad
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Genie gives his powers to Iago for a day.

Good.

THE PROPHET MOTIVE (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Jan Strnad
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

A prophecy of doom for Aladdin spells disaster for the evil monster Fashoom.

One of the better ones. Abis Mal is initially quite buffoonish, yet strangely compelling as a villain.

RAIDERS OF THE LOST SHARK (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi, Tad Stones
Writer: Robert Schechter
Animation: Guimaraes Productions

A land swimming shark devours most of Agrabah and Aladdin and Company must help Captain Murk hunt it down before it can eat the rest of the city.

Not bad, not bad. Design of the shark could have been better, but not bad.

4316-030 THE RAIN OF TERROR

Director: Bob Hathcock, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mike Ryan
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Thundra takes a weekend off and leaves Iago in charge of the world's weather.

Malcho! He's magnificent! If it weren't for those darn changing wings of his...

4316-090 THE RETURN OF MALCHO

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: <none>
Writer: Kevin Campbell
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan)

Aladdin is playing Sultan while the real Sultan is away and he's got a big problem: Malcho is back from the frozen north to wreak revenge on Iago.

Not the best, but Malcho by WDJapan is beautiful. [One of four episodes done to replace THE RETURN OF JAFAR in syndication.]

4316-065 THE SANDS OF FATE

Director: Bob Hathcock, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Richard Stanley
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Aladdin and the gang must break a time loop and prevent history from repeating itself for eternity.

I liked this episode; a lot. I even liked Fashir's speech at the end (gave the episode a nice sense of closure), but hey, I'm a sucker for archetypal types.

4316-027 SANDSWITCH

Director: Toby Shelton, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Sadira uses a time spell to switch places with Princess Jasmine.

This one is the sidekicks' show. Watch for Jasmine to assume the form of a street rat (human, this time).

4316-055 SCARE NECESSITIES

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Mark Sereceni
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

A gift for Jasmine is more than one could wish for.

Hmmm... I was immediately reminded of Gremlins. I don't especially like or dislike this one.

SEA NO EVIL (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Bob Hathcock, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Brian Swenlin
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

A message meant for Aladdin gets sidetracked by Iago and Abu.

Ugh. Ayam Aghoul should really, really have stayed a one-shot villain.

4316-074 THE SECRET OF DAGGER ROCK

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Mozenrath decides he wants to add Genie to his collection of magical items and gives Jasmine until sundown to deliver him or Aladdin pays--with pain.

Ooo... Terrific episode! I'm just twisted enough to enjoy the "Brief History of Man" bit. Jasmine is confident and self-assured and knows how to get her man. Of course, Mozenrath is to die for. :-)

4316-078 SEEMS LIKE OLD CRIMES, PART 1

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

The Destiny Stone has broken and the Keeper calls upon Aladdin to help find out why.

How Aladdin and Abu met. A good story gets somewhat muddled by the flashback sequence.

4316-079 SEEMS LIKE OLD CRIMES, PART 2

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Aladdin's old partners-in-crime have escaped the Destiny Stone , but with serious side-effects. They're no longer human and they're after Aladdin.

I liked the second half better than the first, except for the danged narration at the end.

4316-058 THE SEVEN FACES OF GENIE

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Duane Capizzi, Kevin Campbell Story by Grant Moran
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Genie experiences an extremely pronounced case of multiple personality syndrome in a hilarious romp through Getzistan.

This one is uneven. Some really funny moments and some that sort of just fall flat. Funny, but probably just average. Depends on what type of mood you're in when you watch it.

4316-080 SHADOW OF A DOUBT

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Mirage is up to old tricks as she threatens to wipe out the palace with an obelisk with a deadly shadow.

Hmmm. Mirage is pretty sure of her position as Petty Annoyance Incarnate in this one. And that's what she is: Annoying. Her scheme really doesn't make much sense when you think about it too hard.

4316-052 SHARK TREATMENT

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Saleen lures Aladdin out to sea where she turns him into her newest flunky.

I'm not impressed with Saleen, but the story was okay. The transformation scene was pretty good; it looked very painful. Average.

4316-041 SMELLS LIKE TROUBLE

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bruce Reid Schaefer and Robert Stanley
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

It's another visit to Odiferous during the famed cheese festival but lizards with halitosis extremis are spoiling the fun.

I loved this one. For some odd reason, I was in stitches over the lizards knocking people out with their cheese breath. Okay, it's crude, sophomoric humor, but hey, since when isn't that funny? :-) Ron Perlman voices General Gouda. The original concept was to feature basilisks.

4316-045 SMOLDER AND WISER

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Abis Mal threatens Agrabah with a fire elemental.

Can't comment on this one as I've never seen it all the way through. Tone Loc voices Magma.

SNEEZE THE DAY (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

Genie catches a cold and his magic is out of control. Aladdin must journey to the Cave of Makha-na to recover the Orb of Makha-na to cure Genie before his sneezing destroys them all.

This one is side-splitting hilarious. Split second timing from the WD Australia studio makes this one a visual treat. The voice of Makha-na is none other than Dave Thomas from the old Dave Thomas/Rick Moranis comedy act (Bob and Doug Mackenzie)..

4316-047 SNOWMAN IS AN ISLAND

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth Story by Dev Ross, Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Jaime Diaz Producciones, S.A.

A yeti wants Genie for unlimited entertainment possibilities.

This one is okay. Watchable with a few good gags and lines, but certainly not top ten material.

4316-035 SOME ENCHANTED GENIE

Director: Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Marlowe Weisman, Brian Swenlin
Animation: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia), PTY, Ltd

Abis Mal steals Genie's lamp. While he's looking for his home, Genie bumps into the Genie of the Bottle and it's love at first sight.

Another one in the precious gem category. Eden is every bit as manic as Genie and this is a must see.

THE SPICE IS RIGHT (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Tom Minton
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Aladdin finds a chest full of magic spice and a beautiful necklace. When he gives it to Jasmine, he unleashes the Duke of Deadness, Ayam Aghoul and he has plans for Jasmine--wedding plans.

A pretty good episode. Aghoul reminds me of a sinister Beetlejuice.

4316-023 STINKERBELLE

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Robert Schechter, Kevin Campbell
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Aladdin and Jasmine travel to Odiferous to attend Uncouthma's wedding but someone is trying to sabotage the happy couple's day.

This one is okay. Don't have much else to say about it.

4316-014 STRIKE UP THE SAND

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

When Aladdin saves a fellow street rat from Rasoul's zealous pursuit of justice, she becomes enamored of him. When normal means of getting his attention fail, she uses her new-found powers as a Witch of the Sand to try and make him see things her way.

Sadira is cool. I like her. This one is on my must-see list.

A SULTAN WORTH HIS SALT (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Mirith J.S. Colao
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Jasmine is recruited into the sisterhood of the Galifemes and the Sultan must save the day.

This one has a lot of plot holes, but on the whole is rather good. Listen for Kate Mulgrew as the voice of Queen Hipposdeth of the Galifemes. Also, a BTAS morph for Genie was featured but got cut for time.

THAT STINKING FEELING (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bruce Reid Schaefer
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Prince Uncouthma of Odiferous comes a'courtin' Jasmine. Feeling neglected by Aladdin, Jasmine uses the hulkish, yet kittenish Uncouthma to teach Aladdin to appreciate what he's got.

Another winner. Uncouthma (voiced by Tino Insana (Bushroot)) is a hulk with a soul of a kitten. He may be quite fragrant, but he knows how to treat a lady.

4316-011 TO CURE A THIEF

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell and Brian Swenlin
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

When Abu can't control his habit of taking everything he sees, Aladdin threatens to put him on a leash.

Sigh. They can't all be winners and this one isn't quite up to par. BIG continuity error with the leash being on Abu at the end, when Aladdin never put it on him.

4316-038 THE VAPOR CHASE

Director: Toby Shelton
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Steve Roberts
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

Abis Mal tries to steal Agrabah blind using a powder that produces smoke demons when burned.

Abis Mal and Haroud Hazi Bin are getting better. I could have done without that shot of Abis Mal in the belly dancer's costume. :-0 Jasmine is a little too irritable in this one.

4316-088 VOCAL HERO

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: <None>
Writer: Jan Strnad
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

Amin Damoola has some magic tricks under his belt and he's after the Sultan, who has been turned into a Franklin Mint limited edition figurine!

Watch for the unexpected arrival of another majorly sexy regular. And Iago's "copping a feel" on Jasmine after the lounge chair scene. Hysterically funny grab-you-by-the-throat-and-won't-let-go romp. If anything, this one suffers from not enough of that second villain. [One of four episodes done to replace THE RETURN OF JAFAR in syndication.]

THE WAY WE WAR

Director: Bob Hathcock, Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bruce Reid Schaefer
Animation: Kennedy Cartoons, Inc.

Nefir the Imp is stirring up trouble between Odiferous and Agrabah and making a killing by supplying each side with weapons.

This one is so so. I'm getting tired of the Odiferans.

4316-028 THE WEB OF FEAR

Director: Bob Hathcock
Story Editor: Duane Capizzi
Writer: Kevin Campbell and Brian Swenlin
Animation: Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd.

A cave in uncovers a colony of sinister spider like creatures called the Unkhbut and they've kidnapped Jasmine.

I didn't mind this one at all. It's quite predictable in a harmless way. Average.

4316-084 WHEN CHAOS COMES CALLING

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Tad Stones
Writer: Tad Stones
Animation: Toon City, Inc. and Moving Images International, Inc.

Chaos pays a visit to Agrabah with plans to liven up their dull, mundane, well-ordered lives.

This one is super. Lots of satire, unpredictability and I love Chaos' design.

4316-071 THE WIND JACKAL OF MOZENRATH

Director: Alan Zaslove
Story Editor: Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Sunwoo Animation Co., Inc.

Aladdin and Jasmine pay a visit to the Land of the Black Sand to scope out Mozenrath's new weapon. However, things get complicated when Genie, Carpet, and Iago set off Moze's security alarms and get themselves taken hostage.

Near perfect. Sound story with only a couple minor flaws. Mozenrath is still to die for. :-) He presents a real threat to the heroes, one that makes them work and pay dearly to defeat him. Way cool wind jackal design by Tad Stones.

WITCH WAY DID SHE GO (CBS Fall '94 episode)

Director: Rob LaDuca
Story Editor: Douglas Langdale
Writer: Bill Motz and Bob Roth
Animation: Walt Disney Animation (Japan), Inc.

The Ancient Witches of the Sand have returned to rule Agrabah and Sadira must choose between power and real friendship.

Winner. W-I-N-N-E-R. Must see.
